Mingyu Zhang Assistant Professor of Information Systems Florida Memorial University
Dr. Mingyu Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Sciences and Technology at Florida Memorial University. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Information Systems from Florida International University. His research examines how project methodologies and client–vendor partnerships shape IT project outcomes in information systems development. He applies quantitative, statistical, and computational techniques to study technology adoption, collaboration effectiveness, and IT project outcomes. His additional research interests include data science, AI strategy, cybersecurity, and blockchain, with a focus on how these areas enable organizational capabilities, innovation, and digital transformation.
His research has appeared in Communications of the Association for Information Systems, the International Journal of Information Systems and Project Management (IJISPM), and the Pacific Asia Journal of the Association for Information Systems (PAJAIS), as well as other peer-reviewed outlets in information systems and project management. He regularly presents at ICIS, AMCIS, DSI, and other leading IS venues.
At Florida Memorial University, Dr. Zhang teaches Management Information Systems (MIS), Database Management, Applied Analytics, Systems Analysis and Design, Cybersecurity Management, and Data Visualization. Beyond teaching and research, he serves as a peer reviewer and collaborates with colleagues across institutions. His work bridges theory and practice, offering insights for both scholarly debates and managerial decision-making in technology-driven organizations.
